Sanilac County 60

Amazing piece of hunting land located out in the farmlands of Sanilac County. This 60 acres I like to call the "Wildlife Oasis". The property is a bit better than half heavily wooded. The remaining half is brushy, grassy fields and ringed by pines. Pretty much the entire property is a bedding area for all the critters than spend their time feeding in the hundreds of acres of neighboring farmlands that adjoin this parcel. Imagine what it's like when the area farmers start harvesting those surrounding acres of beans and corn. All the deer hanging out in those crop lands now need a place to get out of sight and this 60 acres is that spot. Kinda like the neighbors own the kitchen, but this place is like that big ole easy chair in front of the TV.

The wooded portion of this one consists of thick pines, poplars, maples, and a few oaks. You'll find both high dry areas and a few seasonal wet spots. Pretty much countless numbers of runways criss-cross through this one. My walk thru the woods produced plenty of sights of freshly made deer beds and lots of tracks in the dusting of snow. I also bumped into quite a few deer that were laying low in the cold morning air. Plenty of trees for those of you who like to hunt from above. Did see a couple old box style blinds that need some fix up, clean up. There is also a garage on the land that can be accessed off Banner Rd. There is a wood stove on one side of the garage. Looks like it was being set up for a place to rest and get in out of the weather. The other side has a roll up door and could function for storage of your gear.

Nice chunk of hunting land in an area that supports a good wildlife population. Minden City State Game Area is a couple miles north of this property and Lake Huron is about 10 miles to the east.
